Am I covered for physiotherapy?

All our plans give you some cover for physiotherapy. Your level of cover depends on your health plan.

If you have a Bronze plan

Following a hospital admission, you have cover for physiotherapy sessions with a registered physiotherapist up to the benefit limit stated in your plan agreement. You must have a referral letter from a medical doctor, and the physiotherapy must be related to the treatment you received in hospital. Finally, each session of physiotherapy must fall within the 90-day period following your discharge from hospital.

If you have a SilverLite plan

You have cover for physiotherapy sessions with a registered physiotherapist up to the benefit limit stated in your plan agreement.

If you have a Silver or Gold plan

You have cover for physiotherapy sessions with a registered physiotherapist. You have a referral letter from a medical doctor, and—if you need further sessions after your 6th session—you must contact us for pre-authorisation and we will require a further referral letter.

Do you cover admin fees that my doctor charges?

No, we don’t cover any administration or registration fees that your doctor or your doctor’s hospital or clinic charges you. That includes any fee your doctor charges in order to complete your claim form.

Do I have a time limit to make my claim?

Please try to submit your claim within 6 months of the date of your treatment. If you treatment was more than 6 months ago, just send in your claim anyway and we’ll review it.

How can I check if I’m covered for a certain treatment?

Have a look at your Certificate of Insurance. It’ll tell you what plan you have (e.g., Silver, Bronze), and give you a link to your plan agreement. In your plan agreement, there’s a section entitled Table of benefits. This table sets out your cover under your plan. You should also check out the following section, entitled What you’re not covered for.
