Ross Irvine

Finance Director

Ross Irvine is Finance Director at William Russell, a role he has held since joining the business in 2018. He is responsible for the financial stewardship of the company, providing strategic oversight across financial performance, pricing, and long-term planning.

In his role, Ross leads all core finance functions, including management and statutory reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and close collaboration with underwriting teams. He plays a central role in assessing the pricing and performance of William Russell’s insurance portfolio, helping ensure the business remains financially resilient, competitively positioned and well placed for sustainable growth.

Before joining William Russell, Ross built a broad commercial career across a range of finance leadership roles within commerce and industry. A significant chapter of his career was spent at a US-based, private equity-owned vending business, where he served as Finance Director of the UK operation before progressing to European Managing Director. During this time, he was closely involved in driving performance and value creation through three successful private equity exits.

Ross is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and brings a combination of technical expertise, commercial insight and senior leadership experience to his role at William Russell.
