KEY FACTS – GLOBAL HEALTH ELITE PLAN POLICY SUMMARY - Significant and unusual exclusions or limitations
The following are excluded from cover under the Global Health Elite plan:
§ Pre-existing conditions.
We do not pay for the treatment of any medical condition or related medical condition which existed, or which ever required treatment, medication or advice from a medical doctor or medical practitioner or specialist or which was diagnosed, or for which the symptoms first appeared, prior to your date of entry to the Global Health plan, or any medical condition that you knew about, or should reasonably have known existed, whether or not you had consulted a doctor, at your date of entry to the Global Health plan.
§ Addictive conditions/disorders and alcohol, drug and solvent abuse.
§ Birth control, infertility, assisted reproduction, sexual problems and sex changes.
§ Birth defects and congenital conditions (although there is limited cover for the first 28 days of life, provided the mother has been insured under a Gold or Platinum plan for a continuous period of 12 months at the time of birth)
§ Bone Marrow Transplants, Organ transplants and stem cell harvesting
§ Chronic conditions
We will pay for the treatment of an acute exacerbation of a chronic condition that is not a pre-existing condition.
If you are insured under the Elite Silver Plan we will pay for consultations, tests and prescribed medication required to monitor and maintain the stability of a chronic condition up to £500 or US$800 or €750 per annual period of cover.
If you are insured under the Elite Gold Plan we will pay for consultations, tests and prescribed medication required to monitor and maintain the stability of a chronic condition up to £1,000 or US$1,600 or €1,500 per annual period of cover.
If you are insured under the Elite Platinum Plan we will pay for consultations, tests and prescribed medication required to monitor and maintain the stability of a chronic condition subject to a life-time benefit limit for all chronic conditions of £50,000 or US$80,000 or €75,000.
§ Convalescence and rehabilitation
§ Cosmetic surgery
§ Dental treatment (although there is limited cover for dental treatment under the Gold and Platinum plans)
§ HIV Aids
§ Long-term kidney dialysis
§ Pregnancy (although there is limited cover for pregnancy under the Gold and Platinum plans, and limited cover for in-patient treatment for certain complications of pregnancy after 12 months continuous cover under all plans)
§ Illness or injury caused by professional sports and racing
§ Psychiatric conditions (although there is limited cover after 24 months continuous cover)
§ Routine preventive health checks and vaccinations (although there is limited cover under the Silver, Gold and Platinum plans after 12 months continuous cover)
§ Sexually transmitted diseases
§ Active participation in war and terrorism

The following are excluded from cover under the Global Health Essential plan:
§ Pre-existing conditions (see pages 6 and 7 of the Global Health Essential plan agreement regarding your obligation to disclose all facts relating to your own at to your dependants’ medical history)
§ Addictive conditions/disorders and alcohol, drug and solvent abuse
§ Birth control, infertility, assisted reproduction, sexual problems and sex changes
§ Birth defects and congenital conditions (although there is limited cover for the first 14 days of life, provided the mother has been insured by a Global Health Essential Care plan for at least 12 months)
§ Bone Marrow Transplants, Organ transplants and stem cell harvesting
§ Chronic conditions
§ Convalescence and rehabilitation
§ Cosmetic surgery
§ Dental treatment
